The economic prosperity arouses Song Chun's (abbot of Tianning Temple) willingness and blessing to rebuilding of the Tianning Pagoda which has experienced 6 years for its completion. The 153.79m-high (510ft) Tianning Pagoda consists of 13 storeys, reserving charm of Tang and Song. Complete with a golden pinnacle and jade decorations, wood beams and columns, inscriptions and brass tiles, approximate 6,000 m3 of wood, 1,000 tonnes of copper, and 1,000 m3 of jade were used. On April 30th 2007, the opening ceremony was attended by 108 heads of Buddhist associations and temples worldwide as well as over 10,000 devotees. The opening ceremony was started when sunburst occurred as Buddha illuminated, and the crowd was delighted. It is praised as the "Pagoda of Prosperity, Culture and Legacy". Former Chinese president, Jiang Zemin wrote "Great Pagoda over the Divine Land". Pay a visit to the Tianning Pagoda, you will have an unexpected surprise! It is immeasurable merit and an infinite blessing, when involving in building, respecting or walking around the pagoda.
